Dr. Jill Gann Burlingame is a seasoned professional in the field of psychology, and currently bases her practice at Bay Area Behavioral Health, LLC a full-service mental health clinic that provides a range of talking therapies and medication management services.

Dr. Burlingame is highly qualified. She holds a Master of Arts degree, a Master of Business degree and a Master of Education degree and obtained her Doctor of Psychology in 1995 from the University of California. She is also a certified and well-practiced hypnotherapist with upwards of twenty years’ experience, and commonly uses hypnotherapeutic techniques in her work and treatment of patients. Over the course of her career, Dr Burlingame has practiced and earned renown for her use of a wide range of therapeutic methods in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults, and specializes in holistic psychological services. She also frequently uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her practice.

Dr. Burlingame’s wide skillset and renown within the industry sees her maintain affiliations with several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Jill has authored of over 30 journal/magazine articles in the area of psychology. She has also co-authored two nationally published tests, The Vocational Implication of Personality (the VIP) And the VIP Jr. On top of all of that Dr. Burlingame has written two books on Career planning tools based on Jungian Typology – “The Egg Hunt” and “How do you like your eggs?”.
Regarding her professional work, she explains that it is her patients’ ability to be “receptive to my wide array of holistic psychological services” is a major contributing factor to her success and high profile within the field of psychology.

Inspiring upcoming generations of psychologists and mental health therapists is important to Dr. Burlingame, and she advises that success within the field relies heavily on a practitioner’s willingness to “put your ego in the trunk of your car, work as a team and say, ‘fire me if I am not the right fit for you as a psychologist’”. She also believes that modern society is “a very fast-paced technological world that is partly responsible for behavioral and psychological problems.”

Outside of her work, Dr. Burlingame is a very creative person, and enjoys painting, writing and the restoration of houses. She also enjoys studying the teachings of Milton Erickson.
